Judge allows BBC to subpoena Trump family members in defamation case

A judge has ruled that the BBC can legally serve subpoenas on Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner. The BBC needs their testimony to defend itself against a $10 billion lawsuit filed by President Trump. Trump claims a BBC documentary about January 6, 2021 described him unfairly and caused him harm. The BBC had tried to serve the subpoenas at the family's Florida home, but law enforcement blocked them. The family had protection because they are close relatives of a sitting president. The judge also allowed the BBC to subpoena many other people, including Steve Bannon and Michael Flynn. Trump has filed similar lawsuits against CBS, ABC, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal.
