Jimmy Kimmel posts AI parody of Mitch McConnell hospital photo

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel posted an AI-generated image on Instagram on Sunday, mocking a hospital photo that Senator Mitch McConnell had shared the same day.

McConnell, 84, was hospitalised with mild pneumonia. He briefly lost consciousness before going to hospital. His photo showed him smiling in a hospital bed next to his wife, Elaine Chao. Doctors found no tumours or bleeding in his brain.

Kimmel created a fake version of the photo while on vacation. He replaced McConnell with himself in the hospital bed but kept Elaine Chao in the picture. The fake image looked nearly identical to the original.
