Jim Parsons describes emotional toll from Big Bang Theory role

Jim Parsons has said that playing Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory made him deeply unhappy. The American actor spoke publicly about the personal cost of his 12 years on the CBS comedy, which ended in 2019.

Parsons said he felt miserable when the show was at its most popular. He blamed this on working too hard and pushing himself too strictly. He has said he would not go through the experience again, no matter how much money was offered.
