Jason Alexander apologizes for 2012 sketch with teenage Courtney Stodden

Actor Jason Alexander has apologised to Courtney Stodden for a comedy sketch they made together in 2012. Stodden was 17 years old when the sketch was filmed. In it, Alexander, who was 52 at the time, touched Stodden's body and made comments about her age. Alexander has said he agrees the sketch was wrong and that he is sorry. Stodden has said she did not fully understand how inappropriate it was until years later. Stodden is now an advocate against child marriage in the United States. She is supporting a California bill, AB 1267, that would set the minimum legal marriage age at 18. She works with Unchained at Last, the only nonprofit in the country focused on ending child marriage.
