Jaguar Land Rover to eliminate 4,000 jobs over two years

Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to cut around 4,000 jobs over the next two years. The British carmaker employs roughly 30,000 people in the UK. The cuts are part of a plan to save £1.7 billion. Workers will be able to apply for voluntary redundancy. The company's revenue fell nearly 10% in its most recent quarter, and profit dropped by about two-thirds to £109 million. JLR said it is facing several pressures, including higher costs, weaker sales, US tariffs, and strong competition from Chinese electric vehicles. The company, which is owned by India's Tata Motors, had already announced around 300 job cuts in July. JLR has also decided to delay its all-electric Defender model by two years.
