Israeli settlers besiege Palestinian homes in West Bank village

Israeli settlers surrounded at least three Palestinian homes in the West Bank village of Qusra from around 9 August 2026. The settlers blocked doorways with rocks and tents and cut off electricity and water. Residents could not enter or leave their homes for four to five days.

Israeli soldiers were present but did not remove the settlers. A military commander promised to stop the campaign, but troops then forced two Palestinian families to leave their homes. An Israeli military spokesperson said soldiers had been ordered not to remove residents, which contradicts what happened.

During the siege, families had only two to three days of supplies left. The US ambassador called it a "horrific act of terror". Across the West Bank, more than 4,800 Palestinians have been driven from their homes in total.
