Israeli airstrikes kill 12 people in southern Lebanese village

Israel's air force attacked the village of Kfar Rumman in southern Lebanon on Monday, killing at least 12 people. One strike hit a residential building, killing 11 people, including two children and four women. A second strike hit a vehicle and killed a paramedic working with a Lebanese scout organisation. The Israeli military said the strikes were a response to two Hezbollah drone attacks on Israeli troops. Israel also said one strike targeted a militant who was carrying weapons into the village. Hezbollah did not say whether it was responsible for the drone attacks. The strikes happened more than two months after Israel and Hezbollah agreed a truce. A separate Israeli strike also hit a building in the nearby village of Deir al-Zahrani.
