Israeli airstrikes hit southern Lebanon killing one person

Israeli military aircraft struck targets in southern Lebanon on Saturday. The attacks hit the village of Msayleh and the city of Nabatieh. One person died, and between seven and eleven others were wounded. Lebanon's health ministry said the person who died was a Syrian national. In Nabatieh, a strike destroyed the top floor of an apartment building. Warplanes also hit a site where heavy machinery was sold, destroying several vehicles. The Israeli military said the strikes targeted underground Hezbollah systems used for weapons control. The attacks briefly cut a major road linking Beirut to the south. Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire in November 2024, but Israeli strikes have continued. UN figures show that 103 civilians have been killed in Lebanon since that agreement.
