Iran launches missiles at U.S. military base in Jordan

Iran's Revolutionary Guard fired around 20 ballistic missiles at a U.S. military base in Azraq, Jordan, on Tuesday night. Jordan's air defences shot down 18 of them. The other two landed in empty areas and caused little damage. U.S. officials said no one was killed, but a THAAD radar system at the base was damaged. The U.S. has since moved to replace it. Iran called the attack "punitive" and warned that it will continue. The strike came after the U.S. destroyed five Iranian oil tankers. The two countries have been exchanging military attacks for some time, and Jordan has been hit before because it hosts American forces.
