Infantino attends Caribbean football meeting despite being asked to stay away

FIFA president Gianni Infantino attended a Caribbean Football Union meeting in the Dominican Republic on Saturday, even though CONCACAF's president had asked him to stay away.

Victor Montagliani made his request on Friday. He said Infantino's presence would distract attention from the football games being played there.

Infantino went anyway. At the meeting, he announced FIFA funding for development projects in the region worth millions of dollars. These projects had been waiting for months. He also met with football and government officials and shared photos of the meetings on Instagram.
