Identical twins live synchronized lives together for 82 years

Bill and John Bowdler, identical twins from Birmingham, have spent 82 years living almost exactly the same life. Born on 21 March 1944, the brothers have never left the house where they grew up. After finishing school in 1960, they took jobs at the same distribution company and worked there together for 32 years. When that company closed, they both retrained as postmen and delivered mail on neighbouring routes for over 17 years, retiring on the same day in 2009. They also wear matching outfits every day, a habit their mother started and which John now continues by choosing clothes for both of them. Even their health has followed a similar pattern. Both brothers needed cataract surgery on the same eye, at the same clinic. The only known difference between them is that Bill enjoys brown sauce and John does not.
