Houthis launch missile attack on Saudi city of Jizan

Houthi rebels from Yemen said they fired a missile at the Saudi city of Jizan on July 25, 2026. The group announced the attack on Telegram, saying the strike had started fires in the city. Saudi officials sent emergency alerts to people in Jizan Province but did not confirm a missile had hit. They also warned residents in the Yanbu area. The attack came one day after Saudi forces bombed Houthi targets near the Yemeni port of Hodeida. The Houthis said those Saudi strikes had hit civilian areas. Earlier, the Houthis had blocked Saudi ships in the Red Sea and promised to retaliate. This was the first major violence between the two sides since a ceasefire in 2022.
