Gunshot fired at US consulate in Toronto for second time in months

Someone fired a shot outside the US consulate in Toronto early on July 27, at around 4:45 am. Police officers at the building heard the gunshot and found one shell casing nearby. The front of the consulate on University Avenue was damaged, but nobody was hurt. A white sedan drove away quickly, and police chased it briefly before stopping when the car reached high speed.

This is the second shooting at the same consulate in four months. The first happened on March 10. Police have said that young people in the Toronto area were being paid to shoot at targets including synagogues, Jewish schools, and the consulate. Officers arrested several suspects aged 18 and 19 in connection with these incidents.
