Grassfire spreads to homes in Stourbridge West Midlands

A large grassfire broke out near a golf course in Stourbridge, West Midlands, on Thursday afternoon and quickly spread to nearby homes. Around 60 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze, which covered about 40 acres. Six houses were affected, and the fire also moved into woodland close to residential streets. Four people were taken to hospital, including three firefighters and one child. Six more people were treated at the scene for breathing in smoke. Train services in the area were stopped for safety, and some homes lost power. Stourbridge town hall opened as a centre for people who had to leave their homes. The fire started on the hottest day of the year in the UK, when several other fires were also burning across the West Midlands.
