Girlguiding unveils first uniform redesign in over 30 years

Girlguiding UK has given its uniform a complete redesign for the first time in over 30 years. The new look was revealed in 2024, after two years of work. Around 55,000 girls and women in the organisation shared their opinions during the process.

The updated uniform keeps Girlguiding's traditional blue colour, with red details on the sleeves and collars. It includes practical features like hidden waistband pockets and thumb holes. Badge sashes can also be worn as shoulder bags.

Members now have more freedom too. They can wear just the uniform top to meetings, instead of a full outfit. A survey found that 93% of girls aged 6 to 16 feel most comfortable when they can choose how to dress. This is the eighth uniform in the organisation's 105-year history.
