Former president Obama campaigns for Democrats before midterm elections

Former President Barack Obama held campaign rallies in Ohio and Michigan on Saturday to support Democratic candidates before the November 3 midterm elections.

Obama first spoke in Cleveland, backing Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton. He then travelled to Detroit, where more than 4,000 people gathered at Cass Technical High School. There he endorsed Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson.

Obama strongly criticised President Trump's record. He said Trump's policies have made everyday costs higher for ordinary people. He also argued that decisions on Iran were unnecessary and dangerous. Obama described the current administration as chaotic, cruel, and incompetent.
