Former police officer charged with murdering Sydney couple in February

A former Sydney police officer is on trial for killing two men in February 2024. Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, at Baird's home in Paddington.

Prosecutors say Lamarre-Condon planned the killings carefully over several weeks. They allege he took bullets from a police weapons store and kept his service gun without permission. He also hired a car using his mother's name, prosecutors say.

After the deaths, he reportedly sent messages from Baird's phone to make people think Baird was still alive. Prosecutors say he tried to hide the bodies in a dam.
