Federal jury acquits rapper Lil Durk of murder-for-hire charges

A jury in Los Angeles found rapper Lil Durk not guilty on all charges on September 12, 2026. Prosecutors said he had paid people to kill rival rapper Quando Rondo. They believed this was revenge for the 2020 death of his friend King Von. The plan went wrong, and a shooting in August 2022 killed Quando Rondo's cousin instead. The jury took three days to reach its decision. Two other men in the case were convicted of stalking but cleared of the murder-for-hire charge. Lil Durk was first arrested in Florida in October 2024. He will not go free yet, because he still faces a separate racketeering case, with a court date set for October 5, 2026.
