Father convicted of murder for providing son's school shooting gun

A father in the United States has been sent to prison for 15 years because his teenage son used his gun to kill four people at a school.

Colin Gray, 55, bought an AR-15 rifle as a Christmas present for his son Colt. He did not store it safely, even though people had warned him his son could be dangerous. In September 2024, Colt Gray, then 14, shot and killed two students and two teachers at Apalachee High School in Georgia. Seven others were injured.

A jury found Colin Gray guilty on 27 charges. They reached their decision in under two hours. Colt Gray pleaded guilty to murder and received a life sentence two days earlier.
