His caption read "New season, new trim." Haaland said he had thought about cutting his hair after the World Cup but had not found the time. His girlfriend was with him during the haircut. He arrived at Etihad Stadium wearing a cap, then removed it during warmup to reveal the new look. Manager Pep Guardiola reacted positively.
