Documentary about Elizabeth Holmes premieres at Telluride Film Festival

A surprise documentary about Elizabeth Holmes opened at the Telluride Film Festival on Sunday. Audiences did not know what film they would see until they sat down. The documentary, made by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, is nearly three hours long. The filmmakers spent three years working on it largely in secret. Holmes, who is in prison for defrauding investors in her medical company Theranos, let the directors into her home 34 days before she began her sentence. The film includes long, close-up conversations between Fielder and Holmes. It also reveals that Holmes and her partner plan to start a new version of Theranos while she serves her 11-year sentence. A24 will release the film in cinemas in October.
