Data center developer appeals Mifflin County application rejection

A developer has appealed after a Pennsylvania township rejected its data center application in July. PA Data Center Partners, from Cumberland County, submitted plans to build a data center in Granville Township, Mifflin County. The township turned down the application less than 24 hours after it passed new rules that placed extra restrictions on data centers. The developer filed its appeal on August 13. It argues that the zoning officer did not act fairly and that the application should be judged under the older rules, which had no data center restrictions. Township supervisors had also been preparing a process that would have paused all new data center projects. The case will now go before the Granville Township Zoning Hearing Board.
