CMS selects Mathematica and Deloitte for four-year learning project

The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has chosen two companies, Mathematica and Deloitte, to work together on a new four-year project called Learning Insights for Action.

The project will look at data from different healthcare payment programmes to find out which approaches work best. Mathematica will bring data science skills, while Deloitte will contribute policy knowledge.

CMS runs the Innovation Center, which tests new ways to pay for and deliver healthcare. The new project will help the agency find high-performing participants and understand their strategies. It will then share these successful methods more widely across other programmes.
