Charles Spencer publishes memoir about sister Princess Diana

Earl Charles Spencer has published a memoir about his sister Princess Diana, nearly 30 years after her death in 1997.

The book, released on September 22, says that Prince Charles told Diana before their 1981 wedding that he did not love her. Spencer also writes that Charles called Diana "a bit chubby" after their engagement. Diana thought about cancelling the wedding because of her worries about Charles.

Spencer also describes the days after Diana died in a car crash in Paris. He says he refused Queen Elizabeth's offer to give Diana back her royal title at the funeral. He also says Charles believed people would forget Diana quickly.
