Carrie Underwood receives mentoring from Axl Rose while developing rock music

Country singer Carrie Underwood is working on new rock music, with Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose acting as her mentor. The new material sounds very different from her usual country style. Underwood and Rose have performed together before. In 2022, they sang "Sweet Child O' Mine" at the Stagecoach festival, and she also opened for Guns N' Roses on some tour dates in 2023. Underwood has said she loves rock and metal music and enjoys the energy at rock concerts. She has admired Rose's voice since she was young. In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, she said his voice "mesmerized" her. Rose has been a vocal influence on her since early in her career.
