Capcom plans to conclude Resident Evil main story within ten years

Capcom executive Jun Takeuchi has said that the main Resident Evil story will end within the next ten years. He made the comment in an interview with Yahoo Japan.

Takeuchi explained that Capcom set up a ten-year plan when it was developing Resident Evil 2 Remake. He said the first ten-year period finished with the release of Resident Evil Requiem in 2026, which earned more than $500 million. The story's conclusion will come during the following ten-year period, before 2036.

He also said that Capcom will keep releasing Resident Evil games after the main story ends. The overall story was not planned from the start. It grew bigger with each new game in the series.
