Canadian business owner delays holiday orders due to tariff concerns

A Canadian horse equipment seller has stopped buying new stock because of possible American tariffs. Shelby Dennis owns Milestone Equestrian in British Columbia. Her shop sells horse gear, clothing, and online training courses. Between 70 and 80 percent of her buyers are American, so a 50% tariff could seriously hurt her business. She has frozen her holiday purchases because she is not sure what will happen. This is a problem because the holiday season is her busiest time of year. Other small Canadian businesses are worried too. The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says that many owners across the country feel anxious about the tariff threat. Higher tariffs could make Canadian products more expensive for American shoppers.
