British commentator deported from US after missing immigration hearing

British commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, 41, was arrested at New Orleans airport on August 27 and deported to the United Kingdom the following day. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement took him into custody for overstaying his permission to live in the country. Yiannopoulos had entered the US legally in May 2019, but he missed an immigration court hearing earlier in 2026. A judge then issued a removal order on July 22. The Department of Homeland Security said he had chosen to break US immigration law and described him as an illegal alien. Yiannopoulos is known for his work as a senior editor at Breitbart News and later as a political aide to Kanye West.
