Bret Michaels has emergency kidney stone surgery after performing concerts

Bret Michaels, the 63-year-old singer of rock band Poison, has had emergency surgery to remove a kidney stone. He had been in severe pain for seven days before doctors operated.

Michaels performed three concerts while suffering from the condition. He played shows in Charleston, West Virginia; Grantville, Pennsylvania; and Spokane, Washington. The day after his final concert in Spokane, he went to hospital.

Doctors decided to operate because the stone would not pass naturally after a week of pain. Michaels updated his fans about the surgery and his recovery on social media.
