Barcelona completes signing of midfielder Rodri from Manchester City

Manchester City have sold Spanish midfielder Rodri to Barcelona for £65.4 million. The deal was agreed on 16 August 2026, ending his seven years at the club.

Barcelona made three bids in total. The first two offers, around £38.4 million, were rejected. City finally accepted the third and much higher offer.

Rodri, who is 30 years old, had one year left on his contract. He had made clear that he wanted to go back to Spain. He has signed a four-year deal with Barcelona.
