Australian police release case photos 25 years after backpacker's murder

Northern Territory Police have released old photographs from their investigation into the killing of British backpacker Peter Falconio, 25 years after his death.

Falconio was 28 when he was shot on a remote road near Barrow Creek on 14 July 2001. His girlfriend, Joanne Lees, was also attacked at gunpoint but survived. Bradley John Murdoch was convicted of the murder in 2005 and sent to prison.

Police opened old evidence boxes to find the photographs, which had not been seen publicly before. They hope the images will keep attention on an important question: where is Falconio's body?
