Attacker with knives shot dead outside Belgrade Israeli embassy

A teenage boy attacked a police officer outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade on Wednesday. The officer shot and killed him in self-defence. The attacker ran at the guard with two knives, shouting "Allahu Akbar." He threw one knife and cut the officer's cheek before being shot. The officer's injury was minor, and no embassy staff were hurt. The boy was a Serbian citizen, believed to be from the town of Sabac. Security services had already been watching him because he supported the Islamic State online. Serbian authorities have called it a terrorist attack and raised the country's terror alert to its highest level. It was the second attack on the same embassy in under three years.
