Apple opposes OpenAI's attempt to dismiss trade secrets lawsuit

Apple has pushed back against OpenAI's attempt to end a trade secrets lawsuit in California. Apple says a former engineer, Chang Liu, downloaded secret hardware files before joining OpenAI. Apple also claims an OpenAI executive used internal Apple project names when interviewing job candidates. The company says this executive asked an Apple worker to bring hardware components to OpenAI for a demonstration. OpenAI wants the judge to dismiss the case, arguing Apple did not investigate properly before filing. OpenAI has also released chat logs showing Apple staff contacted Liu after he left, asking for technical help. Judge Edward J. Davila is hearing the case. More than 400 former Apple employees now work at OpenAI.
