Anthropic researchers resign over concerns about uncontrolled AI development

A researcher at AI company Anthropic has resigned publicly, saying staff are scared about how fast AI is developing. Jacob Coxon, who worked in AI training, posted his resignation on social media. Millions of people shared his posts. He told the BBC that workers are worried about "the fate of humanity in the next two years" and that AI companies are "gambling with our lives." Another Anthropic researcher, Evan Hubinger, agreed with Coxon's concerns. Hubinger, who leads safety testing at the company, said he believes there is more than a ten percent chance that AI could kill all humans within ten years. At least two people from Anthropic's safety team have now left the company over similar fears.
