Andrew Scott receives strong reception at Telluride for role in Elsinore

Andrew Scott's performance in the new film Elsinore received thunderous applause at the Telluride Film Festival in early September 2026. Scott plays Ian Charleson, a Scottish actor who performed Hamlet at London's National Theatre while dying from AIDS. Critics called the performance "shattering" and "heartbreakingly great." Scott also worked as a producer on the film, which is directed by Simon Stone and released by Focus Features.
