América Femenil wins penalty shootout to complete historic triple championship

América Femenil won the Campeón de Campeonas title on July 27, beating Tigres Femenil on penalties. The game finished 1-1 after normal time, and América won the shootout 4-3. This was their third major trophy of the 2026 season, completing what is called a triplete. Their first title came on May 17 in the Liga MX Femenil. No other Mexican women's club has ever won three major trophies in a single season. The Campeón de Campeonas competition brings together the top teams from the Liga MX Femenil regular season and playoff tournaments. América's victory in this final match gave them the last piece of a historic triple championship.
