Airbnb restricts hosts from requiring guests to perform time-consuming checkout chores

Airbnb has changed its rules for hosts worldwide, starting with bookings made from November 20th.

Under the new policy, hosts cannot ask guests to strip beds, wash dishes, or take out rubbish when they leave. These tasks take significant effort and are normally done by professional cleaners. Hosts can still ask guests to leave dirty dishes in the sink or do other small, easy tasks.

All house rules must be shown to guests before they book. Hosts cannot add new rules after a booking is made, and they cannot stop guests from using advertised facilities.
