Actress Lucy Davis announces stage four breast cancer diagnosis

British actress Lucy Davis announced on Tuesday that she has stage four breast cancer. She is 53 years old and best known for playing Dawn in the BBC series The Office. Davis said she received her diagnosis about eighteen months ago.

The cancer has spread to her spine, hip, and ribs. Doctors told her it cannot be cured and that chemotherapy is not suitable for her case. However, treatment can still control the disease for a long time.

Davis shared the news on Instagram, where she has around 590,000 followers. She said she plans to keep acting and to continue her work in animal rights. She also said she wants to use humour to cope, and asked people close to her not to treat her differently.
