Actor Vincent Pastore from The Sopranos dies at age 80

Vincent Pastore, the American actor best known for his role in The Sopranos, has died at the age of 80. He was found dead at his home on City Island in New York after friends had not heard from him for several days. His manager, Bob McGowan, confirmed the news after learning of it from fellow Sopranos actor Vincent Curatola.

Pastore played Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero in about 30 episodes of the popular HBO crime drama. He also appeared in well-known films such as Goodfellas and Awakenings, both released in 1990. Before his acting career, he served three years in the U.S. Navy. He later studied drama at Pace University and performed on Broadway, including in a revival of Chicago.
