Actor Tom Skerritt dies at age 93 from natural causes

Tom Skerritt, an American actor known for roles in films like Alien and Top Gun, died on Wednesday at the age of 93. He was born in Detroit in 1933 and served in the US Air Force before starting his acting career in 1962. His first big film role came in MASH in 1970, directed by Robert Altman. Over his career, he appeared in more than 170 film and television productions. Many people will remember him as Sheriff Jimmy Brock in the TV series Picket Fences, a role that won him an Emmy Award in the 1990s. He also had roles in Contact and several other well-known films. He died from natural causes.
