Aba Macarons opens first permanent shop at Waterfront Market

Aba Macarons opened a permanent stall at the Waterfront Market in Point Ruston on July 3. The Tacoma bakery, owned by Mercedes Sanchez, had previously sold its products only at pop-up events and farmers markets since 2022.

The new stall sits in the back corner of the market at 5101 Ruston Way. It is open Friday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sanchez chose the Fourth of July weekend for the launch because large numbers of visitors were expected in the area. The first 50 customers received free macarons during the soft opening.

The bakery is known for unusual flavours inspired by cereals and flowers. Its products are also sold at Tacoma Boys stores and Harbor Greens.
